TRAVEL CHECKLIST:
- PASSPORT MUST HAVE 6 MONTHS OF VALIDITY: Your passport should have at least six months of validity if you’re traveling internationally. Many countries (including Thailand) will deny you entry if your passport isn’t valid for at least 6 months after your last day of travel (+ 6 months from ~March 2022…so passport needs to be valid through ~September 2022).
- GET CASH IN THAI BAHT FOR THAILAND: Thailand uses a currency called “BAHT”. You will need to get some money exchanged from USD to BAHT. We suggest getting some money here in the states first, so you can have some BAHT cash on hand when you land. Be sure to exchange your money before or when you arrive at the airport, as USD cash is not accepted anywhere. There will be some places that accept credit cards such as the hotel, restaurants, Shopping mall, etc. If you are in Texas, we recommend getting your money exchange at Texas Money Exchange for the best rate. There are many locations throughout Texas: San Antonio, Houston, Friendswood, Frisco and Plano. You can also get money exchange at your bank or credit union, however it may take a long time for the order since there are not many banks that have Thai BAHT on hand. Be sure to order it a couple weeks before your travel date.
- NOTIFY YOUR BANK THAT YOU WILL BE TRAVELING: So you can use your credit card (hotels suggested only) & debit card (ATMs suggested only) while in Thailand.
- SETUP YOUR PHONE SERVICE BEFORE YOU GO: If you wish to use your phone in Thailand, you can use the AT&T International Day Pass ($10/day for AT&T users), OR you can use the Verizon Travel Pass ($10/day for Verizon users), OR you can bring your unlocked phone and buy a Thai SIM card.
Using a U.S. Cell Phone in Thailand – Most American cell phones are locked. What that means is you can only use them with a certain carrier. You can ask your carrier if you are able to use your phone in Thailand (they may charge a fee for daily used). Another options is to use your phone only on Wifi. Many places in Thailand offer free wifi.
If your phone is unlocked, you can buy a Thai SIM card and connect to a Thai network easily.
LASTLY, you must apply for the THAILAND PASS to enter Thailand. Kyle and Lita will help every guest with this before they depart. There are specific steps needed as well as a follow up with the Embassy (Lita will do) to help speed up the waiting time. Kyle and Lita will follow up with each of you to get this booked.

LAX is a great international hub that all major airlines fly to Bangkok from (1 or 2 stops from LAX to Bangkok).
There are many direct flights from SAT or AUS airports to LAX. We decided to split up the trip and fly direct from SAT to LAX 1 night before the long journey to Thailand.
Our flight departs from San Antonio Airport at 7:45 AM on Friday, February 18, 2022 to stay in LA for 1 night.

Uber to the LAX Airport
Check out from the hotel and Uber to the airport. It's about a 10 minute ride (3.7 miles) to the LAX airport.

If you are flying First or Business class, the Sakura Lounge (Japan Airline) is located on the 3rd floor of the Narita (NRT) airport. Operating hours are from 7:30 AM - 10:00 PM
Business and First-class passengers can bring additional 1 guest. Premium economy passengers flying on JAL may also have lounge access. If you are flying basic economy, the Sakura lounge might accept walk-ins based on capacity. You can pay for entry at the front desk from ¥1540 (~$14) per traveler.
Note: When connecting between International flights through Japan, there will be Security Checks.
Passengers who have already been inspected in the country of departure will require to be screened again when transiting through all Japan Airport, but you do not need to leave the airport! There will be easy to read signs in English as well as guides there to help you process through Japan.
Please be sure to allow ample time for your flight connections. Less than an hour is not recommended.

We arrive in Bangkok, Thailand at 11:35 PM Thailand time (GMT+7) on February 20, 2022.
Every guest will go through this process as soon as you land:
1. Immigration process
2. Pick up your luggage
3. **Guide will verify your info and take you to the driver service
4. **Get in a pre-booked car to go to the PCR swab testing center, and get swabbed for COVID
5. **Car then drops you off at your hotel
6. **Wait in room until negative PCR test is confirmed
NOTE: All guests are required to remain in their room up to ~6+ hours waiting for the PCR result. However, Kyle and Lita are in contact with all of the hotel managers and the swab testing centers to help speed up and minimize time waiting in the hotel. Kyle & Lita called within ~3 hours and got their results emailed (thanks to Lita talking to them in Thai). So we will do the same for all of our guests as they arrive, so you wont be in your room waiting so long!

We are staying at this hotel in Sukhumvit area. It’s a great location. This hotel has an awesome rooftop bar. You can find a great deal on the “AGODA” app (download on Android or iPhone). You can find a Deluxe room as low as ~$90 per night. Daily Breakfast and/or 2 free drinks at the Octave Rooftop Bar is included and it’s wonderful!
